The Diablo IV 2.6.0 Public Test Realm (PTR) is now live, giving players an early opportunity to experience the core systems and gameplay changes coming in the next season. This update introduces fast-paced combat mechanics, high-risk dungeon modifiers, and powerful new item types designed to reward aggressive play.

The PTR runs from February 3 at 10:00 a.m. PST to February 10 at 10:00 a.m. PST, and all feedback gathered will directly influence final balance and tuning before the season launches.

Killstreak System: Momentum Is Power

One of the biggest additions in Patch 2.6.0 is the Killstreak System, a new mechanic that rewards fast, efficient monster slaying across nearly all activities.

How Killstreaks Work

1) Defeating enemies in quick succession starts a Killstreak
2) A timer tracks your momentum and resets with continued combat
3) Kills, direct damage, and initial damage-over-time effects refresh the timer
4) Let the timer expire, and the Killstreak ends

Killstreaks progress through five escalating tiers: Killstreak, Carnage, Devastation, Bloodbath and Massacre.

At the end of a Killstreak, players earn bonus Experience and seasonal rewards based on total kills and the highest tier reached. Dying during a Killstreak immediately ends it with no rewards, adding real risk to aggressive play.

Bloodied Items: Power That Scales With Violence

Patch 2.6.0 introduces Bloodied Items, a new item quality that becomes stronger as your Killstreak grows.

Any dropped item can roll as Bloodied
Bloodied items can also be Ancestral
Effects stack with other affixes

Bloodied Affix Types

Rampage (Armor)
Scales directly with Killstreak Tier
Example: Increased movement speed per Killstreak tier

Feast (Weapons)
Triggers bonuses based on total kills
Example: Reset a random cooldown after a set number of kills

Hunger (Jewelry)
Improves reward drops as Killstreak tiers increase
Example: Increased Rune drops from elite enemies

Each Bloodied Sigil carries a Bloodied Affix, Relentless Butcher. The infamous purveyor of human charcuterie hunts you endlessly, hounding your every move. Should you manage to fell the Butcher, he will immediately return. This does not replace the existing chance to have Butcher spawns, there is the chance to fight both Butchers simultaneously.

Expect the activity in the Bloodied Sigil to be around a Torment Tier higher in difficulty than your current Torment Tier. Bloodied Sigils reward this significant challenge with guaranteed drops of Bloodied Items.
