Adopt Me Birthday Update: New Pet Aging System and Legendary Purrowl
The latest Adopt Me update introduces a major new feature centered around celebrating pets’ birthdays. Players can now age up their pets, trigger birthday animations, and earn rewards — making pet progression more interactive than ever.
Pet Birthdays and Aging System Arrives
With this update, every pet now has the ability to “celebrate a birthday” through the new aging mechanic. By using age-up potions or completing tasks, players can increase their pet’s age stage and trigger a special birthday animation. Each time a pet levels up, players receive surprise rewards such as:
- Bucks (in-game currency)
- Potions (e.g., baby bottles, speed or utility potions)
- Chests and sticker packs
- Random themed gifts
The rewards appear instantly after aging up, rather than being manually opened like traditional loot boxes.
New Gift System and Reward Variations
A key change in this update is the introduction of a color-coded reward system. Items that drop from aging pets now appear in different colors, which represent their rarity tier. Players noticed:
- Common rewards often appear in standard colors
- Higher-tier rewards may appear with gold or special visual effects
Interestingly, the system scales rewards based on progression — meaning higher-age pets tend to generate better loot.
Players can speed up pet growth using various age potions, including tiny and advanced versions. Using multiple potions at once allows pets to quickly reach higher age stages such as teen, post-teen, or full-grown.
The Ultra-Rare “Purrowl” Discovery
The biggest highlight of the update is the extremely rare chance to obtain a Purrowl, a legendary pet tied to aging mechanics. According to in-game information:
- Post-teen pets have approximately a 0.05% chance to yield a Purrowl
- Fully grown pets have approximately a 0.1% chance to yield a Purrowl
This makes the pet one of the rarest possible outcomes from the aging system — estimated at roughly 1 in 1,000 attempts. Because of its rarity, players are still unsure how often it should appear, leading to excitement and speculation across the community.
The new birthday and aging system in Adopt Me significantly changes how players interact with their pets. However, the lack of clear drop explanations and occasional performance issues leave room for improvement. For now, players continue testing the system — hoping to uncover just how rare the top rewards really are.
