For months, the veteran Raiders of the wasteland have followed a predictable rhythm: scavenge, extract, and hoard. Every scrap of ARC alloy and every gold coin was tucked away in a vault, saved for that one final moment when wealth could be converted into power.
With the upcoming "Riven Tides" update on April 28th, the traditional end-of-season transition has been overhauled. If you’ve been sitting on a mountain of wealth and playing it safe, your strategy is about to become obsolete. The season-end Expedition is no longer a test of your bank account—it is a test of your lethality.
The New Meta: The Damage Challenge
In previous seasons, the path to permanent progression was paved with gold. To unlock those precious permanent Skill Points, players had to donate staggering amounts of "Stash Value." This created a passive environment where players often avoided combat to protect their net worth.
Starting April 28th, that era is officially over. The next Expedition window will be driven by the Damage Challenge. To earn your five new permanent Skill Points, you won’t be handing over currency; you will be dealing destruction. Whether you are hunting rival Raiders in high-stakes PvP or dismantling massive ARC machines, your progress is now tied directly to your combat output.
This shift forces "hoarders" to finally bring their legendary weapons and top-tier consumables into the field. Expect the final days of the season to be a high-octane bloodbath as the community burns through their best gear to hit their damage milestones.
The Catch-Up: Buying Back Your Future
Perhaps the most significant olive branch extended to the community is the new Skill Point Catch-Up mechanism. Many players who missed earlier Expeditions felt they were at a permanent disadvantage in the skill tree. Under the new system, once you successfully complete the current Damage Challenge, you unlock the ability to "buy back" missed points from previous seasons.
The cost is steep—roughly 300,000 Gold (or equivalent material value) per point. This is where your accumulated stash finally serves a purpose. While your wealth won’t earn you new points, it acts as a vital resource to fill the gaps in your build, allowing dedicated players to push toward the current Skill Point cap.
Final Prep: The Caravan and the Wipe
Before the "Riven Tides" begin, you must finalize your Caravan project at the base. This requires specific materials like ARC alloys and batteries. Completing the Caravan is the only way to "Depart" for the Expedition. Those who succeed will carry over:
5 New Permanent Skill Points
12 Additional slots of permanent stash space
Exclusive Cosmetics like the Scrappy Turban and Patchwork evolution sets
Everything else—your level, non-permanent stash, and blueprints—will be wiped clean to make room for the new coastal map, Panorama Azzurro. When the tide rises on April 28th, ARC Raiders will become a more aggressive, combat-focused experience.
