A major new update has arrived in Fortnite, and although Team Ice King has officially won the first phase of the seasonal rivalry, the battle is far from over. The latest update introduces a brand-new point of interest, several exotic weapons, multiple free rewards, and the long-awaited free access to Save the World. Here’s a full breakdown of everything included in the update.

One of the biggest announcements in this update is that Save the World is now free for everyone. Players can now jump into the original PvE storyline without purchasing access.
To celebrate the launch, a new Save the World-themed POI has appeared on the Battle Royale island. The location is constructed entirely from player builds and will continue evolving throughout the season.
Characters from Save the World have also arrived on the island, including the fan-favorite hero Penny, who now interacts with players inside the new location.
Players who complete portions of the Save the World storyline will unlock several free rewards, including:
Axhammer Pickaxe
Stand and Fight Jam Track
Additional cosmetics tied to the storyline
One of the biggest rewards is a free skin: Jess. Players can unlock this outfit by earning 350,000 XP while playing Save the World. Although it sounds like a large amount, new players can gain XP quickly by completing missions and challenges.
The Rivalry Continues – Act Two Begins
The seasonal conflict between Team Ice King and The Foundation now enters Act Two. As players progress through the event milestones, new weapons and gameplay features will unlock.
Players supporting the Ice King side will unlock:

Hammer Revolver
IO Recon Scanner
Reforged Infinity Blade (returning to Battle Royale in a balanced form)
Slipstreams for faster map movement
Players aligned with the Foundation will gain:
Super Shredder Shotgun from Save the World
Expansion of the Save the World POI
Cube Rifle that fires cube projectiles
Increased launch height for Sanctuary tubes
These additions will unlock gradually as the rivalry progresses.
The update also introduces several additional free items players can claim.
Free rewards include:
Save the World spray for logging into the game
Havoc vehicle by completing Rivals and Rockets Battle Royale quests
Ranked cosmetics featuring Fishstick-themed rewards
A special victory umbrella for winning on the new Reload map
Reload mode has received a brand-new map called Elite Stronghold. The map includes several returning Fortnite mechanics and items such as:
IO Drill
Rift Gate teleporter
Classic weapons and equipment
Players with Elite rank can access the map early and compete for exclusive rewards.
The update also introduces several cosmetic additions and collaborations:
New PlayStation Plus pack
Twitch Drops for Save the World
A new Fortnite Festival icon skin
A karaoke mode for the Festival experience
Free pet for players who own the OG Scales back bling
Additionally, three popular creators — Somerset, Ready, and Moxy — will receive their own Icon Series skins in a special bundle.
Several upcoming collaborations have also been teased:
WWE character skins
A new LEGO pass featuring Ninjago Wave 2
Possible crossover with The Boys
While some of these are still rumors, they highlight how much content Epic Games is preparing for upcoming updates.
This Fortnite update is packed with content: the launch of free Save the World access, a brand-new evolving POI, multiple weapons, new maps, creator skins, and plenty of free rewards. Players can expect even more gameplay changes as the season continues.
