Grow a Garden: Best Free-to-Play Method to Get Huge Pets
If you’ve been grinding Grow a Garden on Roblox, you probably know that increasing a pet’s base weight is the key to making your pets massive. One of the most powerful tricks used by experienced players is the Elephant (Relephant) method, which can gradually boost a pet’s base weight and turn an ordinary companion into a huge powerhouse.
In this guide, we’ll explain a simple free-to-play strategy that uses the Elephant ability and leveling system to create extremely large pets.
Why the Elephant Method Is So Effective
The Elephant pet has a special ability called Jumbo Blessing, which can reset a pet’s age while increasing its base weight. When a pet reaches Age 50, the ability can activate and reset the pet back to Age 1, while adding about 0.1 kg to its base weight.
This means players can repeatedly level the same pet to Age 50 and let the Elephant blessing trigger again and again. Each cycle increases the base weight slightly, allowing the pet to grow much heavier over time. However, the ability usually only works while the pet’s base weight is below roughly 3.5 kg, after which the bonus stops applying.
For free-to-play players, this mechanic is one of the best ways to slowly build a powerful pet without spending currency.
Example: Turning a Normal Peacock Into a Huge Pet
To demonstrate how this method works, let’s look at a Peacock pet with an initial base weight of 2.78 kg.
By repeatedly leveling the pet to Age 50 and triggering the Elephant blessing, the base weight gradually increased:
First blessing: 3.11 kg
Second blessing: 3.22 kg
Third blessing: 3.33 kg
Fourth blessing: 3.44 kg
Fifth blessing: 3.55 kg
Sixth blessing: 3.66 kg
Seventh blessing: 3.77 kg
Once the base weight approaches the 3.5 kg limit, the Elephant boost can no longer increase it effectively. Even so, the pet becomes significantly stronger and heavier than its original form.
Boosting Power With Mutations
After maximizing base weight, the next step is applying mutations. Mutations can increase a pet’s stats and overall effectiveness, making them extremely valuable for late-game builds.
One of the best mutations is the Nightmare variant, which increases weight by roughly 22.5%, giving the pet a major boost compared to normal versions.
While obtaining this mutation may take several attempts, the improvement is worth the effort. Once the mutation is applied, leveling the pet to its maximum level will dramatically increase its final weight and performance.
After completing all steps — boosting base weight, applying the mutation, and reaching maximum level — the pet can become dramatically larger than its original form.
In many cases, pets that start at around 2–3 kg base weight can eventually reach 35–40 kg or more at higher levels, making them far stronger and more valuable in the game.
What started as a normal pet can eventually look like a semi-titanic creature, making it one of the most satisfying progression paths in Grow a Garden.
