With the introduction of Cosmetics in Grow A Garden, players now have near-complete freedom to customize the look and functionality of their garden plots. Whether you’re designing around a specific theme or simply trying to maximize efficiency, there’s a wide variety of cosmetic items available to help bring your vision to life. Most cosmetics can be found in the dedicated Cosmetics menu, with new items being added regularly through seasonal events and limited-time challenges.
However, cosmetics in Grow A Garden are far more than just decorative extras. Many of the rarest and most valuable cosmetics play a direct role in gameplay. Some are required to activate the abilities of powerful pets, while others apply special mutations that significantly increase the value of your plants. Because of this, collecting the right cosmetics can be just as important as growing crops or raising pets.
Unfortunately, many of these cosmetics were only available during special events and may not return for a long time — if ever. Some also have extremely low drop rates, making them highly sought after by collectors and competitive players alike.
Below is a list of the most important Grow A Garden cosmetics that interact with plants, pets, or provide special functionality:
| Cosmetics | Effects |
| Hot Spring | A resting spot for the Nihonzaru pet, enabling its special behavior. |
| Pancake Stack | Attracts nearby pets to its location every 15–30 seconds. |
| Cooking Pot | Used by the Gorilla Chef to activate its pet ability. |
| Cooking Kit | Allows players to cook food items. |
| Fall Fountain | Has a chance to apply the Fall mutation to nearby fruit. |
| Witch’s Cauldron | The Black Cat pet will nap near this cosmetic. |
| Hex Circle | Plant exactly five single-harvest plants inside to summon the Hex Serpent. |
| Sarcophagus | Must be placed in the garden alongside a Mummy pet to enable its ability. |
| Spell Book + Two Halloween Candles | Required components for unlocking the Lich Crystal item. |
| Green Bean Chamber | Interact with it to speak to the Green Bean Spirit and unlock a special outfit. |
| Mutation Machine Booster | Reduces the mutation machine’s processing time from 60 minutes to 50 minutes. |
| Pet Incubator | Place a pet inside to passively gain XP over time. Plants can be fed to the machine to power it. |
To open the Grow A Garden Cosmetics menu, launch the game and click or tap the icon that looks like a crossed hammer and spanner. If you have any cosmetic items you haven’t viewed yet, a red number will appear next to the icon. You can use the arrow at the top of the inventory screen to expand or collapse the item list at any time. If you’re looking for a specific cosmetic, simply use the search bar within the Cosmetics menu.
Select a cosmetic item from the menu to place it in your garden directly in front of your character. You can then click or tap the placed cosmetic to bring up its control options. To reposition the item, hold down one of the four main control buttons and drag your mouse or finger across the screen to move it.
Arrow Keys - this moves an item’s placement in your garden.
Anti-Clockwise Arrow - flips an item on the vertical axis.
Clockwise Arrow - rotates an item horizontally.
Inverted Anti-Clockwise Arrow - flips an item on the horizontal axis.
Arrow with padlock - implied that it locks the item into place, but this doesn’t work.
Box - returns the item to the cosmetic inventory.
Cosmetics in Grow A Garden are a core part of progression, not just visual flair. From unlocking pet abilities to applying high-value mutations, these items can drastically change how you play the game. If you’re aiming to build the most efficient or rare garden possible, tracking down these cosmetics should be a top priority — especially before they disappear for another year.
