In Helldivers 2, Terminid forces come in many deadly forms, but one enemy you’ll encounter constantly is the Warrior. These armored bugs appear in nearly every Terminid mission and can quickly overwhelm unprepared squads. While they may not be the largest enemies in the game, their numbers and aggression make them one of the most dangerous threats during intense battles.
If you want to survive higher-difficulty missions, understanding how Warriors work and how to eliminate them efficiently is essential.

Warriors are mid-tier Terminid enemies that act as the backbone of most bug swarms. You can encounter them in patrol groups, defending nests, or emerging from underground after other bugs call for reinforcements.
Unlike some enemies that only appear at certain difficulty levels, Warriors can show up in almost every Terminid mission, starting from the lowest difficulties and continuing all the way to the hardest challenges.
As mission difficulty increases, the number of Warriors also increases. Instead of appearing alone, they often attack in coordinated waves alongside other dangerous enemies. This combination can quickly pressure teams and make reviving teammates extremely difficult during combat.
Compared to basic swarm bugs, Warriors are much tougher and deal heavier melee damage. Smaller enemies are usually easy to eliminate with standard gunfire, but Warriors have higher durability and can push directly toward your squad.
At the same time, they are not as heavily armored as elite enemies like Chargers. This places them in a dangerous middle category — common enough to appear everywhere, but strong enough to become a serious threat if ignored.
Because of this, Warriors often control the pace of a fight. If your squad focuses only on large targets and ignores the swarm, Warriors will quickly close the distance and surround players.
Although Warriors look intimidating, they actually have several weaknesses. Their attacks rely mostly on their front claws, which means they need to get close before they can deal damage.
One important mechanic to remember is that decapitated Warriors may enter a short frenzy, gaining a temporary speed boost even after losing their head. However, this state does not last long, so keeping your distance will prevent unnecessary damage.
Weapons that work best against Warriors include:
Shotguns for close-range swarm control
Assault rifles for sustained fire
Support weapons or explosives for clearing large groups
Continuous fire and explosive damage can eliminate Warriors quickly before they reach melee range.
The most effective way to deal with Warrior groups is strong team coordination. One player should focus on crowd control while others handle elite enemies or mission objectives.
Good positioning is also critical. Fighting in open areas allows your team to move freely, kite enemies, and thin out swarms before they reach your position. Getting trapped by terrain or buildings can make it much easier for Warriors to overwhelm the squad.
Rotating positions and maintaining movement discipline will greatly improve your survival chances during large Terminid assaults.
Mastering these tactics will make fighting Terminids much easier and help your team survive even the toughest missions in Helldivers 2.
