Hunters are among the most frustrating enemies players face in Helldivers 2. If you’ve spent time fighting Terminids, there’s a good chance these fast-moving bugs have already taken you down more than once. With the latest Personal Order asking players to eliminate Hunters, many divers are now searching for the fastest way to track them down and complete the objective efficiently. Fortunately, Hunters are common enemies once you know where to look.

Hunters are agile Terminid units known for their speed and aggressive melee attacks. They usually appear as pale-colored bugs with reddish-orange wing-like structures on the sides of their heads. When preparing to attack, they leap toward players and rapidly slash with their sharp front limbs.
What makes Hunters dangerous isn’t their health pool — it’s their mobility. They often appear in groups, constantly jumping around the battlefield and attacking before players have time to react.
Some smaller bug variants may look similar, including basic orange enemies and bile-colored versions, but those do not count toward Personal Order progress.
Hunters only spawn in Terminid-controlled regions, which are marked by orange sectors on the galaxy map. Nearly every bug mission has a chance to include them, regardless of difficulty.
However, if you want to farm Hunters quickly, Eradicate Terminid Swarm missions are usually the best option. These missions throw continuous waves of enemies at players, creating more opportunities for Hunters to appear in large numbers.
Bug nest operations are another solid choice since Hunters commonly defend objectives and patrol surrounding areas.
Even on lower difficulties, Hunters can appear regularly, so you don’t necessarily need to increase challenge settings just to complete the Personal Order.
Although Hunters are extremely aggressive, they are surprisingly fragile. Most weapons in the game can eliminate them quickly with accurate shots.
The biggest mistake players make is allowing Hunters to get too close. Once they enter melee range, their rapid attacks and jump movements can become difficult to counter.
Staying mobile is the key to survival. Hunters often move side to side before jumping at their target, so try to shoot them before they leave the ground. If they manage to close the distance, continue moving backward while firing instead of panic-diving, since recovery animations can leave you exposed.
Keeping both your primary and secondary weapons loaded is also important. Fast weapon switching can save you if a Hunter suddenly appears nearby.
Armor featuring the Democracy Protects passive is also highly effective, as it helps reduce the danger of sudden melee damage when multiple Hunters attack simultaneously.
Hunters may not be the largest Terminid enemies in Helldivers 2, but they are easily among the most dangerous when underestimated. Their speed, constant jumping, and pack behavior can overwhelm even experienced players during intense missions.
